Njovu Kruger Game Lodge Tent

The atmosphere of this exclusive East African Tented Safari Camp brings back the romance of Safari, reminiscent of the early 1900’s explorers with only 3 sumptious tented suites, each overlooking its own private watering hole within the camp where animals such as Giraffe, Zebra, Kudu, Impala and Warthog visit regularly to quench their thirst.

Njovu Kruger Game Lodge Fire

This private luxury lodge is located 800 meters from the banks of the Crocodile River. Njovu Kruger Game Lodge features open-plan suites with a lounge, double bedroom, en suite bathroom (inside shower), electricity and a private sun-deck that offers relaxing bush views.

Njovu Kruger Game Lodge Lounge

Dine in elegance by candle light on the Sala-Deck and watch the sunset around the fire pit, while the sounds of the African bush create a magical night, broken only by the splashing of water as the animals arrive to drink under the cover of darkness. At night the Boma is lit by kerosene flares and storm lanterns, creating the true ambience of the bush safari experience. Cuisine consists of traditional African meals cooked and eaten under the stars.

Weather

Summer temperatures can exceed 40 degrees C but winters are generally very mild. The best time to visit the Greater Kruger National Park: Both seasons have different advantages eg From October to March, when the summer rains have transformed the dry African savannah into a paradise with flowers blossoming everywhere, the park is alive with young antelope and migratory birds. In the winter months the water is scarce and the animals are easier to spot, usually at water holes and riverbeds.

About the Lodge

“Njovu” means “The Unstoppable One”. African people regard the Elephant with a very deep reverence. The Zulu, Tswana and Tsonga names for the elephant all mean "the forceful one", "the unstoppable one".

The Southern sector of the Kruger National Park is part of the original Sabie Game reserve that was proclaimed a Wildlife Reserve in 1898 by the president at the time, Paul Kruger.

We had 4 excellent days at this lodge. Francina is a great cook and Rory is an awesome driver in the morning when he's in a hurry! Andre is just a perfect Ranger as well. Thank you for all the great service and help. We hope to see you all again soon. We won't forget our encounter with an angry lion during our bushwalk!
