Over eleven days, this African Luxury Safari will take you to five exceptional lodges, all of which are dedicated in providing the very best service, cuisine and wildlife adventures. Journey to the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve (known for its excellent leopard and Big Five sightings), then it’s off to the riverine forests and sandstone outcrops of the Northern Tuli Game Reserve in Botswana, before spending four days in the spectacular waterways and sprawling floodplains of the Okavango Delta. Your last stop will be at a scenic safari retreat, which is nestled along the banks of the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe. During your journey you can embark on twice-daily game drives, various water adventures such as mokoro and boat cruises, nature walks, birdwatching and stargazing.

Itinerary:

Day 01 & 02: Sabi Sand Game Reserve

On arrival at O.R Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport, you will be met by a safari representative who will hand your travel documents to you.  Road transfer to Lanseria Airport where you board your scheduled charter flight to the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Upon arrival at the Ulusaba airstrip, you will be transferred to Exeter Dulini Safari Lodge.  

Guests enjoy Sabi Sand Reserve accommodation at Dulini Private Game Lodge in 6 double suites with fully en-suited bathrooms.  Each suite is air conditioned with private verandas and heated plunge pools. Embraced under a leafy canopy of Ebony Trees, 6 traditionally thatched suites grace the banks of the Mabrak Riverbed.

Spend two nights at Exeter Dulini Safari Lodge in a suite. Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles and nature walks accompanied by experienced armed trackers (subject to availability).

Day 03, 04 & 05: Nitani Private Game Reserve

This morning, after your early morning game drive and breakfast, a transfer will be provided to take you to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Nitani.

Spend three nights deep in the heart of Botswana’s Tuli Block. Known as “the land of the giants” this vast and scenic wilderness area stretches from where the Shashe and Limpopo Rivers meet in the east, all the way to the Notwane River in the southwest. Riverbeds are lined with lush forests of lime green fever trees, and wildlife abounds among the striking landscapes and unique topography. Because of its strategic position along the South African border, the Tuli Block also has a fascinating frontier history.

      
Nitani Lodge which is built 2 metres above the ground on the banks of the perennial Majali River. The lodge allows wildlife to move freely through the camp while still ensuring the safety of all its guests. There are only five suites at Nitani Lodge - air conditioned, each with its own plunge pool and spectacular views of the bush and nearby water holes. Spend two nights at Nitani in a twin bedded suite.  Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities. Activities include early morning and afternoon game-viewing drives by open 4-wheel drive vehicles as well as night drives.  The wellness centre is equipped to offer various beauty treatments and massages at an additional cost.

Day 05, 06 & 07: Okavango Delta

After your early morning game drive and breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Nxabega Okavango Safari Camp, where two nights will be spent in exclusive tented suites nestled under a canopy of African ebony trees. Private decks overlook the reeded molapo (floodplain) in this intimate camp, offering the height of sophistication and style within the heart of the Okavango Delta.

Nxabega, meaning “Place of the Giraffe”, is ideally positioned to explore the magnificence of the Okavango - a wetland wilderness of looping channels, islands forested with palms and wide grassy floodplains. Glide along the Delta’s floodplains in a mokoro and explore the deeper channels by motorboat. Enjoy guided bush walks and interpretive game drives in open safari vehicles. Exciting spotlit night drives shed light on Botswana’s nocturnal wildlife.

Your stay is on a full board basis including park fees and scheduled activities. Guests have a choice of daily activities including meandering along the floodplains of the Delta by mokoro, exploring the deeper channels by motor boat, nature walks accompanied by an unarmed professional guide, or tracking game by open 4x4-safari vehicle in the Mopane Forests and open grasslands.  The added highlight of an evening game drive by spotlight assures you of the most complete lodge experience in Botswana.

Day 07, 08 & 09: Okavango Delta

Transfer by light aircraft to Sandibe Safari Lodge which is set on a permanent channel of the magnificent Okavango Delta. The beautiful thatched lodge nestles between permanent water and grass-swept plains and comprises just eight exclusive twin-bedded safari cottages, each with en suite facilities, open-air showers and private game-viewing decks overlooking the Santantadibe River.

Sandibe is surrounded by an abundant array of wildlife and throughout the year, guests are enchanted by the changing moods of the Delta. Spend two restful nights at Sandibe in a charming thatched cottage and enjoy daily game drives in open safari vehicles, guided bush walks, river cruises, mokoro excursions, birdwatching and stargazing. For relaxation there is a hammock, which sways in the trees outside the main living area, and a shaded plunge pool. Your stay is on a full board basis including park fees and scheduled activities.

Day 09, 10 & 11: Zambezi River

Transfer by light aircraft to Kasane for your road transfer to Matetsi Water Lodge (Zimbabwe) – clearing customs and immigration en route.

This luxurious safari lodge is situated along Matetsi’s private Zambezi River frontage under a canopy of lush riverine trees, and is renowned for sophisticated accommodation and sweeping views of the river and surrounding African wilderness. Six air-conditioned suites with en suite bathrooms; indoor and outdoor showers and private plunge pools. Breathtaking river views, elegant dining and sitting areas located near the magnificent Victoria Falls.  

The layout of the camp ensures privacy and intimacy in an idyllic setting. Open sided, thatched guest areas consist of an elegant dining and sitting area with large fireplace. Delicious Pan-African cuisine is served on the intimate riverside dining decks or in a surprise setting in Matetsi’s pristine wilderness.

Spend two nights at Matetsi Water Lodge in a twin bedded suite.  Accommodation is on a full board basis including activities. Lodge activities include day and night game-drives in open safari vehicles, guided bush walks, fishing, boat cruises and canoeing.  If requested the Lodge will arrange an excursion for those who wish to participate in the many optional activities in and around Victoria Falls.

Day 11: Departure

Transfer by road to Victoria Falls airport where your African Luxury Safari ends.
