Itinerary:

Day 01 & 02: Okavango Delta

Upon your arrival at Maun Airport you will be met by a safari representative and assisted onto your light aircraft transfer to Nxabega Okavango Safari Camp.

Spend two nights at Nxabega Okavango Safari Camp in a twin bedded East African style safari tent pitched on an elevated platform nestled under a canopy of African ebony trees. Private decks overlook the reeded molapo (floodplain) in this intimate camp, offering the height of sophistication and style within the heart of the Okavango Delta. Accommodation is on a full board basis including park fees and scheduled activities.

Nxabega, meaning “Place of the Giraffe”, is ideally positioned to explore the magnificence of the Okavango - a wetland wilderness of looping channels, islands forested with palms and wide grassy floodplains. Glide along the Delta’s floodplains in a mokoro and explore the deeper channels by motorboat. Enjoy guided bush walks and interpretive game drives in open safari vehicles. Exciting spotlit night drives shed light on Botswana’s nocturnal wildlife.

Guests have a choice of daily activities including meandering along the floodplains of the Delta by mokoro, exploring the deeper channels by motor boat, nature walks accompanied by an unarmed professional guide, or tracking game by open 4x4-safari vehicle in the Mopane Forests and open grasslands.  The added highlight of an evening game drive by spotlight assures you of the most complete lodge experience in Botswana.

Day 03 & 04: Okavango Delta

Transfer by light aircraft to Sandibe Safari Lodge which is set on a permanent channel of the magnificent Okavango Delta. The beautiful thatched lodge nestles between permanent water and grass-swept plains and comprises just eight exclusive twin-bedded safari cottages, each with en suite facilities, open-air showers and private game-viewing decks overlooking the Santantadibe River.

Sandibe is surrounded by an abundant array of wildlife and throughout the year, guests are enchanted by the changing moods of the Delta. Spend two restful nights at Sandibe in a charming thatched cottage and enjoy daily game drives in open safari vehicles, guided bush walks, river cruises, mokoro excursions, birdwatching and stargazing. For relaxation there is a hammock, which sways in the trees outside the main living area, and a shaded plunge pool.  

Day 05 & 06: Chobe National Park

Transfer by light aircraft to Savute Safari Lodge.

On the banks of Botswana’s fabled Stolen River, that you will find Savute Safari Lodge in a setting of singular beauty. The now dry Savute channel is part of the dynamic Savute eco system renowned for its large concentration of elephant, lion and their troubled relationship.

Savute Safari Lodge's local timber and glass chalets with cool thatching all have private viewing decks inspired by the striking panorama, whether seen in the dry season when it can appear desert-like and barren beyond belief or after the rain on one of those crystal clear days across the vivid green of new grass, the impression is always the same.

Game drives, conducted by a professional guide, in an open vehicle, provide the chance of seeing the numerous wild life species that the area is justly famous for. Thousands of zebra visit Savute en route to the new grasses at Mababe in the south, and return around February on their way home to Linyanti.  They share the marsh with tsessebe, wildebeest, giraffe and cheetah.  The rains also welcome thousands of migrant birds that swell Savute’s existing 300 species. Spend two nights at Savute Safari Lodge in a twin bedded thatched safari suites.  Accommodation is on a full board basis including park fees and scheduled activities.

Day 07: Departure

Transfer by light aircraft to Maun Airport where your African Botswana Safari ends.
