Itinerary:

Day 1 & 02: Samburu National Park

Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by a safari representative and transferred by road to Wilson Airport where you will board your scheduled flight to Lewa Airstrip. From the airstrip a short game-drive transfer, 10 minutes will bring you to camp.

Spend two nights at Samburu Intrepids. Accommodation is in a tent with en-suite facilities. Your stay is on a full board basis including park fees and two scheduled game-drives per day. 27 luxurious tents overlook the riverbanks, large four-poster beds and classic safari furniture, modern en suite bathrooms with steaming showers, secluded verandahs with all-day bar service. Samburu Intrepids is renowned as a pioneer of luxury camping in one of the world’s last truly great wilderness areas. Situated on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River in the arid heart of Samburu National Reserve, Samburu Intrepids looks out over riverbanks where herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra come daily to drink – together with the rarer ‘northern species’ of reticulated giraffe,  Beisa oryx and long-necked gerenuk antelope.  

Day 03 & 04: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Lewa Airstrip. From the airstrip a short road transfer, 15 minutes, will bring you to camp. Spend two nights at Lewa Safari Camp. Accommodation is in a tent with en-suite facilities. Your stay is on a full board basis including park fees and scheduled activities which include game-drives and bush walks.

Lewa Safari Camp is a tented camp on the 60,000 acre Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. The wildlife here is excellent, and Lewa has 10% of Kenya’s Black Rhinos (around 47) and 20% of its White Rhinos (about 35). It is also home to 20% of the world’s endangered Grevy Zebras.  It is a non-malarial area due its altitude of 1700m. The Camp has 12  tents, each within a thatched structure, accommodating up to 26 guests. The tents are comfortable rather than luxurious, but well-appointed with an en-suite shower room with flush toilet.  They are also nicely spaced for a reasonable amount of privacy. There is a generator providing bedside and bathroom lighting morning and evening.

In the public area, there is a lounge (with library), bar and restaurant. You can also charge cameras etc here.  There is also swimming pool, a hide, and also a gift shop.

Day 05, 06, 07: Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip where you will board your scheduled flight to Kichwa Airstrip. From the airstrip a short game-drive transfer, 10 minutes, will bring you to camp.

Spend three nights at Kichwa Tembo Tented Safari Camp. Accommodation is in a tent, with an en-suite shower and w.c. Your stay is on a full board basis including park fees and scheduled activities. Renowned as Kenya’s best-loved safari lodge, Kichwa Tembo Tented Safari Camp nestles below the Oloololo Escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, affording spectacular views of the Masai Mara’s game-filled plains.

Kichwa Tembo’s spacious canvas safari tents offer magical views over the Masai Mara grasslands or the Sabaringo River. The main thatched guest areas include a welcoming bar/sitting area, indoor and outdoor dining areas and a well-stocked gift shop featuring African art, artefacts and safari-wear. The swimming pool is perfect for laid-back game viewing whilst cooling off.

Relax in the candlelit bar in the evening before enjoying delicious Pan-African cuisine served alfresco style outdoors or in the main dining area. Private dining and exciting bush banquets may be arranged on request.

Thrilling safari activities: Explore the Masai Mara’s Big Five territory on morning and afternoon game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles. Activities include game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles. A ballooning safari and/or a day trip to Lake Victoria (Mfangano Island) can be arranged at an additional cost.

Day 08: Nairobi

Enjoy an early morning game-drive and breakfast before your transfer to the airstrip where you will board your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport. Daily flights depart at 11:00 arriving at 12:15. Scheduled road transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where your African Kenya Safari ends.
