This safari offers wonderful birdwatching in Lake Manyara National Park, game viewing in the Serengeti National Park and magnificent views of Ngorongoro Crater from your sumptuous suite at the award-winning Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. This safari can be combined with Secrets of the West Safari, including chimpanzee tracking in the famous Mahale Mountains National Park and dhow trips on Lake Tanganyika.
Upon your arrival at Arusha Airport you will be met by a safari representative who will assist you in boarding your scheduled flight to Manyara Airstrip. Daily flights depart at 08:00 and 15:00. You will be met by a representative from Lake Manyara Tree Lodge for your game-drive transfer, 3 hours and 30 minutes, to the Lodge.

From soaring groundwater forests and a tranquil lake, to the mountain escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park boasts an incredible wealth of habitats and diverse African wildlife. Guests are offered an exciting, interpretive safari experience in game-rich surrounds which include large herds of elephant and buffalo. The Lodge, which was designed to exert minimal impact on the environment, is situated in the remote southwestern region of the Park.

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is set in the heart of a mahogany forest, and is the only lodge in the diverse Lake Manyara National Park in northern Tanzania. Accommodation is in luxury stilted treehouse suites nestled in boughs of mahogany trees. Crafted from local timber and makuti (palm fronds), Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is discreetly tucked away in an ancient mahogany forest in close proximity to the exquisite soda lake. There are only ten stilted tree house suites, each with en suite bathroom and outdoor shower, private game viewing deck overlooking the forest. Each tree house suite features large windows to invite the lush forest inside. The classically elegant rooms are fitted with contemporary furnishings in neutral colours and textures. Bedrooms have overhead fans, mosquito nets and earthy, understated features.
The lodge contains a crafts gallery and swimming pool and well as a butler service. Overlooking a forest boma (outdoor dining area), guest areas are soaring spaces housing Dodoma artworks and tactile fabrics. An interactive kitchen allows guests to observe the preparation of delicious Pan-African cuisine which may be enjoyed in the theatrical boma, on dining decks, or on your private viewing deck with spectacular forest views. Breakfasts and picnics are also served on the lakeshore.
Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities and park fees. Activities include game-drives in Lake Manyara National Park.
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip where you board your scheduled flight to Grumeti Airstrip. From the airstrip a short game-drive transfer, 10 minutes, will bring you to camp.
Serengeti National Park and Grumeti boasts exceptional year-round game viewing, the Grumeti River crossing during the Great Migration, interpretive game-drives into the Serengeti, the largest mass of free-ranging game on earth, excellent hippo and crocodile viewing, and a stunning remote African wilderness experience. Grumeti River Camp Lodge is a splendid safari camp renowned for its stylish, vibrantly African designed tented suites set along the banks of a bywater of the Grumeti River, offering exceptional crocodile and hippo viewing. Grumeti’s spacious tents under makuti (palm frond) canopies and the vibrancy of colourful interiors - including hand-blown Kenyan glassware, African cloth and local sculptured furnishings - bring alive the excitement of Africa. Each tented suite features a large bed made of Tanzanian cypress and comfortable deck furniture both in and outdoors. En suite bathrooms offer separate w.c.s and alfresco showers open to the sun and stars.
Yoruba beaded antique artifacts adorn the sitting areas and domed bar. Spacious decks are perfect for sundowners overlooking the water and game viewing. Delicious Pan-African cuisine - prepared on traditional “jikos” (fires) or in stone ovens - is served in the boma or open-fronted dining area. Private dinners may be arranged for any special occasion. Enjoy the sparkling plunge pool, funky guest areas and African crafts shop.
Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities, game drives in the Serengeti National Park and park fees. Explore the Serengeti savanna and woodlands on interpretive, twice-daily game-drives and enjoy excellent birdwatching in and around the camp. Optional excursions to Lake Victoria - Africa’s largest lake - can also be arranged at an additional cost and may be booked directly at the lodge, subject to availability of vehicles.
Enjoy an early morning game-drive and breakfast before your transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Manyara Airstrip. You will be met by a representative from Ngorongoro Crater Lodge for your road transfer, 2 hours, to the Lodge.
Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera of the once-volcanic Ngorongoro shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth, ringed with towering walls and sheltering forests, grasslands, fresh springs and a large soda lake. Nearby Olduvai Gorge - a famous early archaeological site - is situated to the west of the Crater in the eastern Serengeti Plains. In the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, 42 000 Maasai live and herd their livestock in harmony with Africa’s wild animals.
Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is perched on the edge of the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater at the eastern edge of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. It lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which covers more than 8 000 square kilometres (3 100 square miles) of pristine African wilderness. Inspired in design by the Maasai mud-and-stick manyatta (homestead), Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in Africa.
The intimate camp comprises romantic suites perched on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater with spectacular views. Each suite has a private viewing deck, exclusive butler service, and spacious en suite bathroom. Enjoy extraordinary guest areas and an African gift shop and art gallery. Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities and park fees.
Activities include one game-drive on the Crater floor. Additional activities may be booked directly at the lodge, subject to extra cost and availability of vehicles. Such activities include excursions to Olduvai Gorge and Shifting Sands, a visit to a Maasai village and walks at Empakai Crater. Massages are offered for those who need to relax after a day’s game-viewing
