Itinerary

Day 1 & 2: Okavango Delta

Surrounded by the sands of the Kalahari Desert is the magical oasis of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, formed by the ancient seismic shifting of the earth’s surface. Water in the desert is a spectacular sight - the crystal-clear channels, spreading like an outstretched hand over the thirstlands of the Kalahari. Wide grassy floodplains are home to a magnificent array of wild animals.

Transfer by light aircraft from Maun Airport to Sandibe Safari Lodge which is set on a permanent channel of the magnificent Okavango Delta. The beautiful thatched lodge nestles between permanent water and grass-swept plains and comprises just eight exclusive twin-bedded safari cottages, each with en suite facilities, open-air showers and private game-viewing decks overlooking the Santantadibe River. Sandibe is surrounded by an abundant array of wildlife and throughout the year, guests are enchanted by the changing moods of the Delta.

Spend two restful nights at Sandibe in a charming thatched cottage and enjoy daily game drives in open safari vehicles, guided bush walks, river cruises, mokoro excursions, birdwatching and stargazing.

Day 3 & 4: Okavango Delta

Transfer by light aircraft to Nxabega Okavango Safari Camp, where two nights will be spent in exclusive tented suites nestled under a canopy of African ebony trees. Private decks overlook the reeded molapo (floodplain) in this intimate camp, offering the height of sophistication and style within the heart of the Okavango Delta.

Nxabega, meaning “Place of the Giraffe”, is ideally positioned to explore the magnificence of the Okavango - a wetland wilderness of looping channels, islands forested with palms and wide grassy floodplains. Glide along the Delta’s floodplains in a mokoro and explore the deeper channels by motorboat. Enjoy guided bush walks and interpretive game drives in open safari vehicles. Exciting spotlit night drives shed light on Botswana’s nocturnal wildlife.

Day 5, 6 & 7: Tuli Game Reserve

Transfer by light aircraft to Nitani Lodge which is built 2 metres above the ground on the banks of the perennial Majali River. The lodge allows wildlife to move freely through the camp while still ensuring the safety of all its guests. Spend three days exploring the wilderness on early morning and afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles, as well as exhilarating night drives.

There are only five suites at Nitani Lodge - each with its own plunge pool and spectacular views of the bush and nearby water holes. If guests have a specific interest in astronomy, birds, butterflies, bugs, botany, archaeology, geography or any other of the natural sciences, the resident ecologist will be delighted to share his knowledge with you.  Meals are prepared by an internationally renowned chef who cooks in consultation with each guest, creating individualised menus, ensuring that the camp can easily cater for any dietary preferences. The wellness centre is equipped to offer various beauty treatments and massages at an additional cost.

Day 8:

Transfer by road to Lower Limpopo Airstrip where your Botswana Safari ends.
